Role overview:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead and be responsible for the recruitment process for both permanent and temporary roles. By collaborating closely with hiring managers, you will develop thorough job descriptions and implement effective recruitment strategies. Your responsibilities will include sourcing and attracting candidates through various channels, managing the end-to-end recruitment process, and maintaining engaging recruitment content on multiple platforms.
You will be responsible for ensuring a positive candidate experience, contributing to the development of recruitment best practices, and maintaining compliance with GDPR. Furthermore, you will build and nurture a robust talent pipeline for future hiring needs, provide insightful recruitment metrics, and oversee invoicing and timesheet management related to recruitment activities. Ultimately, your efforts will drive continuous improvement in the recruitment process and support the overall success and growth of the business. Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Hiring Managers and conduct detailed job briefings to fully understand role requirements and support the creation of comprehensive and accurate job descriptions.
- Develop and execute effective strategies to attract top talent and create engaging advertisements, job specifications, and recruitment campaigns.
- Ensure regular, engaging, and proactive candidate attractions via external sources, including social media, job boards, company website, and other platforms.
- Establish and maintain a robust talent pipeline to meet future hiring needs, ensuring timely availability of high-quality candidates.
- Assist hiring managers in evaluating CVs, conducting initial screenings, administering pre-employment assessments, and coordinating interviews.
- Maintain and update recruitment content on the company's website, social media platforms, and internal notice boards to reflect current opportunities and company branding.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of recruitment best practices and processes to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate the onboarding process by coordinating with HR and Hiring Managers to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Actively contribute to the company's diversity and inclusion efforts by implementing strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
- Collaborate with marketing and HR teams to enhance the company's employer brand and create a positive image in the job market.
- Promote and manage the employee referral programme to leverage internal networks for potential candidates.
- Ensure ongoing GDPR-compliant maintenance of CVs, including speculative submissions, to protect candidate data privacy and confidentiality.
- Preserve the company brand by keeping all candidates informed and updated throughout the recruitment process and their application status.
- Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities and provide regular reports on key recruitment metrics and progress to stakeholders.
- Oversee the invoicing and timesheets related to recruitment activities to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the recruitment process to drive continuous improvement and achieve desired results.
- Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition to maintain a competitive edge.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, such as recruitment agencies, universities, and professional associations.
- Stay informed about new tools, technologies, and methodologies in recruitment to continuously improve the hiring process.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Higher education qualification is required (e.g. HND, HNC, NVQ, A-level, or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience as a recruiter, preferably in-house and in a stand-alone environment.
- Experience with various candidate sourcing techniques, including social media, job boards, networking, and referrals.
- Experience conducting interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates’ skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Strong understanding of recruitment processes and best practices.
- Ability to communicate at various levels and with diverse groups
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Excel, Word) and proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment software
- Ability to analyse recruitment metrics and data to drive improvements and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills to handle multiple recruitment activities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations to ensure compliant handling of candidate information.
- Educated to degree level in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or relevant subject area is desirable.
- Certifications such as CIPD, REC, SHRM, CPSP, CPC, or their equivalent are highly desirable
