As part of the Yard Operations team at H+H no two days will be the same, from the varying volume of loads through the site to a variety of additional tasks to perform there will be no time for boredom.

Working as part of a small team on a rotating weekly shift basis, this is a key role that ensures the business continues to supply our customers with the correct product, on time, every time. Interaction with our haulage partners and colleagues on site is vital, as is a having calm demeanour under pressure.

About the Role:

In the role of Yard Operative, your tasks will be converting non-compliant products into items fit for the market, ensuring precise inventory management, and facilitating consistent stock audits. Responsibilities also include executing tasks such as loading vehicles and implementing site regulations for external drivers. You will play a pivotal role in the company's expansion by establishing and meeting ambitious goals, promoting a culture of continuous enhancement. Moreover, maintaining the company's commitment to health and safety protocols, and guaranteeing that all activities are in line with legal requirements, will be a fundamental part of your duties.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Product Transformation: Rework non-compliant products into 'fit for sale' packs.
•    Inventory Management: Monitor, reconcile, and report inventory discrepancies.
•    Vehicle Operations: Perform loading and unloading duties as required
•    Site Regulation Enforcement: Ensure all third-party drivers comply with site rules.
•    Health & Safety Compliance: Uphold the company's health and safety standards.
•    Continuous Improvement: Drive results by setting ambitious goals, measuring progress, and con-tinuously improving.

About You:
•    You possess a solid secondary education and /or it is desirable to be time served pr apprenticeship in warehousing and storage, distribution and logistics or trade supplies.
•    Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
•    You are a team player with a professional conduct and problem-solving skills and who has a proac-tive, “can-do” approach.
•    Computer literate and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 
•    You will demonstrate adaptability, resilience and embrace change in our dynamic environment, whilst fostering positive relationships through empathy and active listening. 
•    It is desirable to have a Forklift licence (e.g. B1 / B2) and demonstrable yard/logistics experience.
